PICT Classic Theatre has been offering student programing to high school students for several years and its education programs are without compare. Educators in the Pittsburgh area appreciate the rigor of PICT’s proprietary 3ACTS program.

ACT 1: We plan a school visit by a PICT artist to introduce a play and prepare students for the performance they will see.

ACT 2: We supports the needs related to students attending matinees or, in some cases, an evening performance by offering significant group discounts.

ACT 3: We provide opportunities for individualized post-matinee student interpretation and reaction responses to the play they saw.

3ACTS programming has been developed in alignment with standards in language arts and encourages writing on the part of students. Post-matinee activities can be customized and are being expanded to incorporate STEAM concepts by including activities on how sets and costumes are designed.

The 3ACTS program also includes study guides, writing prompts and other resources made available to participating teachers.

The 3ACTS program will be marketed to between 30-40 Pittsburgh area school districts and now will be extending to schools in the Mon Valley.

PICT currently has a database that includes over 160 area educators and plans to expand it to include additional school districts. Act 1 and Act 3 activities will be scheduled pre and post performance as convenient for schools.
